Your Deep River Republican Town Committee is proud to present our candidates for election in the upcoming municipal elections on November 8^th, 2011.  Your DRRTC has worked hard to find very qualified candidates for this year’s slate and we know that you will agree.

The DRRTC meets at 7pm on the second Monday of every month in the conference room of the Deep River Liberty Bank.  All Republicans are welcome to join us and get involved.

	Selectman – David N. Oliveria Incumbent Selectman who believes in citizen participation in Government and making the right choices for our town 28 years business experience 16 year resident and parent of two graduates from DRES,  JWMS and VRHS Involved with local and national civic groups Navy Vet
	Town Clerk – Amy Macmillan Winchell Incumbent Town Clerk who has done an exceptional job in her first term Implemented Thursday Evening Hours Increased awareness of dog licensing with first annual Top Dog drawing Grew up in Deep River Proven organizational skills Served many years of volunteer service
	Treasurer – Thomas W. Lindner Incumbent Treasurer with 22 Years (11 Terms)  experience in effectively managing town funds Vice President of Essex Savings Bank with over 36 years of banking experience Involved with many local community groups Lifelong Deep River resident
	R4 Board of Ed – Lauri Wichtowski Experienced two-term (eight year) member of the DRES Board of Education who desires to advance to the Region 4 Board of Education Strong Insurance and Compliance background 18 year resident, who along with her husband, are the parents of two children who are both graduates of DRES and JWMS, with one of them just graduating from VRHS Many years of volunteer service in the community including Shoreline Soup Kitchen volunteer and team leader
	Board of Finance – John Bauer Qualified and experienced two-plus term member of the Board of Finance serving ten years as Chairman Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with 23 years professional experience Partner of large accounting firm and manager of the Essex office Served many years on the Deep River Volunteer Fire Department and currently serving as the Safety Officer
	Board of Finance – William M. Ballsieper Brings many years of multi-million dollar financial and project management to the Board of Finance Past treasurer of both the Deep River Historical and Haddam Historical Society’s Experienced Engineering and Operations background
	Deep River BoE – Jim Olson Eight Year Incumbent seeking new term Vice President of Whelen Engineering and veteran of both the Fire Department and Ambulance Association Holds a BS degree in Business from Central Connecticut State University Lifelong resident of Deep River with a son at JWMS and Daughter in VRHS
	Deep River BoE – Julia Grabowski Desires improved educational opportunities for our children Eight year resident of our community With five children in the elementary school, has a vested interest in our success Education includes a Major in International Business and past employee of major corporation
	Board of Appeals – Darlene G. Pollock Incumbent and very well qualified to serve on Board Of Appeals Many years of experience In the assessment field Lifelong resident of Deep River
	Library Board of Trustees– Louise C. Cowen Currently Treasurer Of Deep River Library Board Of Directors Experience  and knowledge with Library Operations 20 Year Resident who is employed by local attorney
	Library Board of Trustees – Donald “Skip” McM. Routh Past Deep River Board of Finance Member Friends of the Deep River Library Member Retired university administrator
	Library Board of Trustees – Rolf C. Peterson Incumbent member of the Library Board of Directors Work to preserve and improve the Library facilities and technology Retired from IBM and involved with community events
